Meow. Meow.

I got inspired to be a cat by watching this MrsJennMarie’s video on cat make-up on You Tube.

We spent thus past Friday night at the Great Pumpkin Ball. What could be better than dancing with 750 other costumed crazies. Prrr.

If you live in the Ottawa area I recommend attending next year. There was a band on one level and a DJ on the other. Dancing and outfit adoration abounded.

Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween! You can be someone new, some weird personality all night with no fear of judgement from the masses.

The way I feel about Halloween is the way I feel about fashion. You can slip something on and express a whole new side of yourself to the world.

Sadly I waited until the very last minute this year to sort out a costume. So I’ll be relegated to costumes of Halloween past. Look forward to a future post featuring Audrey Hepburn, Little red riding hood or a kitty. Unless by some miracle a find a use for all the faux fur I’ve stashed away.

Hope y’all enjoy Halloween!

I’ve been contemplating my next big project. I like to have one one the go at all times.

The past couple years I’ve:
– taken a makeup artistry class
– taken a manicure/ pedicure course
– trained with calgel
– started the blog 🙂

What next?

Here are some of the options I’ve been toying with:
– taking a photography class (This would give me another creative outlet and cut down on my photo editing time).
– taking a creative writing course (I think this would benefit me in so many ways. Work. Blogging. Its been on my bucket list to be published and improving my writing skills couldn’t hurt).

Now that I’ve written down my options I feel like I have some positive momentum to pick one.

Any other ideas?

Ninja bunny rocks. I found Ninja bunny at Victoire in Ottawa. It was love. Ninja bunny exclaimed “I’m cute and furry but tough”. I responded by taking Ninja Bunny home.

Anyone who knows me knows I normally detest patterns. This dislike of patterns includes caricatures, logos, funny tee shirt sayings etc., essentially anything too busy. I like to keep it simple and play up an outfit with accessories. So this purchase shocked even me. A few things overwhelmed my normal disgust at all things patterned/ logo’d:
1. The cotton is amazingly soft.
2. Did I mention how cute yet lethal Ninja Bunny is? Looks aren’t always as they appear. (Insert ninja chop).
3. The cuteness of Ninja bunny is contradicted by the dark grey color and the scoop neck. This ain’t no frou frou animal tank.
4. I was feeling like….. a Ninja Bunny.

Top: Ninja Bunny. by Cry Wolf Clothing. Shirt: Top Shop. Sweater: Reitmans. Necklaces: vintage and Forever 21.

Last week went by in a blur. It almost feels surreal. I’ve been feeling a little uninspired lately. But I found the cure.

I started my “after work week” with some music. My bro has a radio show every Tuesday at 7pm ET called La Belle Showcase (its on ckxu 88.3fm, you can listen online via iTunes or at http://t.co/s8h6MFwa). Being busy and forgetful meant that last night was the first time I listened to his show. I’m so glad I did.

The show features a new label every week and then showcases music from the label’s many signed artists. I came away with two new bands I’m going to have to check out. But more than that, I came away inspired. My bro just jumped into radio, he loves music and he now shares that love with the world. All that enthusiasm and talent is contagious 🙂

So what’s my next project?
