Banana Bread Round up.

I’m so excited for the weekend! There are a million little things I want to do. Mostly though I want to make my man his favorite treat. Banana Bread.

He’s Banana’s for the stuff. He looks at banana bread the same way Golum looked at “the Ring”. I love watching him eyeball a new loaf, he subtly monitors every slice taken from the loaf, almost mentally calculating how many slices he has left to savor.

I still haven’t found the perfect recipe though. The bread is never awful, it’s always good but for some reason all the bread recipes that I’ve used always take years to bake. It’s a big commitment making Banana bread because I’m never quite sure as to when the darn thing will be done. Some loaves have taken 2 full hours to bake…yeesh.

So I’ve rounded up the following recipes with this weekend in mind. Not sure which one I’ll try out but here’s hoping I won’t be a slave to the stove.

  1. The Best Banana Bread You’ll Ever Have (With Bourbon and Chocolate Chunks)
By Joy the Baker, from the new Joy the Baker Cookbook (Bourbon, enough said)
  2. Blueberry Walnut Banana Bread by Emily Malone (I happen to have some blueberries in the fridge yeah!)
  3. Perfect Banana Bread (this one has me intrigued…yogurt in the bread ingredients?!

Anyone have any recommendations? Family favs?
